CONSTRUCTION PRACTICES

When you move into a Martineck - Johnson Custom Home, you can be sure that your new home was built with the highest possible quality and attention to detail in every aspect.  The Martineck - Johnson quality extends beyond the portion of the house usually seen by the home-buyer and includes the underlying "hidden" areas such as the architectural design, foundation, structural framing, electrical wiring, and long-term livability.

Before any ground is ever moved,  the design team carefully considers each specific lot location for the optimal blend of the architecture within its environment.  The floor plans are meticulously reviewed with the goal of designing the custom home to meet the livability needs and desires of the homeowner. Every foundation is designed and certified by a registered professional engineer for long-term peace of mind and stability. The structural components are built to endure generations of use with extra strength materials and fabrication. The heating and air conditioning systems are designed for practical efficiency, with concern for indoor air quality as well as energy savings. Each component of every home is carefully considered to match the desires of the homeowner with the maximum endurance specifications. The homes are plumbed and wired for practical applications of current technology, with proper allowances for future enhancements with minimal effort. The underlying technical infrastructure of the home is put together to facilitate and enhance the beautiful finishes and design treatments that are touched and seen by the home's occupants over its generations of living.

PIER DRILLING

All foundations are underlain by steel-reinforced concrete piers.

FOUNDATION BEAMS

The foundations are supported by deepened steel and concrete beams spanning between piers.

SLAB CURING

The concrete slabs are cured properly to maximize strength and minimize cracks.

INSULATED CONCRETE FORMS

Martineck - Johnson specializes in building on request with insulated concrete forms. The blocks are positioned together, inlaid with reinforcing steel, and then filled with concrete.
