This award-winning home exhibits the very finest in luxury living.  The home was winner of six major awards during the 2002 Dallas Parade of Homes, including the overall "Favorite Home," "Favorite Interior" and "Favorite Landscaping" voted by the building industry.  The home is authentically fashioned after a French country manor house and exudes quality both inside and out. Your senses are filled with the beauty and comfort of the design, while your intellect is thrilled with the extreme technical quality underlying every part of the construction.

No detail was spared in the design and construction of this home.  From the centuries-old built-in fine European antiques and hand carved artistic trim to the state-of-the-art computer automation, this house provides the very best lifestyle enhancement available.  As soon as you arrive at the front entrance, you notice the hillside of huge boulders over which three scenic waterfalls flow. You walk up winding steps made of large stone slabs to the front landing below the gas lights and wrought iron railings. The heavy wooden front door transports you inside into a world of handcrafted luxury.

All the materials in the home are the highest quality and are completely natural in the true representation of fine European estates. You will notice that the floor is hand-scraped oak throughout, with an artistic medallion inset into the entry foyer floor.  The ceilings in the foyer, dining room and master bath are hand-carved plaster moldings. The light fixtures are all custom-designed hand-made wrought iron with real beeswax candles holding the electric lights in place. The large iron and wooden doors leading to the study are approximately 200 years old and were imported from an old building in France. The formal powder bath sink cabinet was converted from a beautiful wood and marble buffet built in France during the mid-1800's.  The door to the kitchen pantry came from a European home built in the late 1800's. The house is filled with incredible examples of fine stonework imported from all over the world. Even the secondary bathrooms have natural granite, marble or travertine floors and countertops.

But don't let the old-world interior design fool you.  This house is actually built on an ultra-modern infrastructure of high-tech electronics and solid structural systems.  The Crestron computer controls the lighting, security, video, audio, and surveillance cameras and is accessed through user-friendly touch panels throughout the home. Every room is wired for additional computer networking with multiple cat-5e and RJ6 cabling run inside almost every wall. In fact, over five miles of computer cables were installed in the home to allow for easy incorporation of future technology as it becomes available. The entire home is protected by a UL-certified lightning arresting system and whole-house surge protection, and a FEMA-specified storm shelter is centrally located downstairs.  Every wall and floor (both inside and out) is insulated with fire-retardant blown rock wool, and the entire house is protected by a computer-monitored fire sprinkler system.

The back yard continues the French country theme with the lush landscaping around the beautiful pool and spa. The pool incorporates natural stone for the upper coping, and there three waterfalls flow over the boulders from the spa into the pool. The covered patio and entire yard are filled with stereo sound and distinctive lighting for dynamic entertaining or private luxury.

FRONT ELEVATION

The French country style is accented with hand-chopped limestone and inset antique bricks to resemble the canonball patches commonly seen in the French countryside. Over 55 tons of large boulders were set into the hillside to create three waterfalls and two winding sets of natural stone steps leading to the front entryway. The front door is illuminated with two gas lanterns, and wrought iron railings line the two upstairs balconies.

FLOORPLAN: 1ST FLOOR

The main floor contains two suites, 2 full baths, 2 powder baths, dining room, kitchen, pantry, butler's pantry, china closet, study, safe room, kitchen, great room, wine room, utility room, three-car garage, and covered outdoor patio.

By evening, the home exudes character. The gas lights provide a soft glow over the natural stone walkways, and the three waterfalls glisten in the reflections of the home.

FRONT WATERFALLS

The two central waterfalls flow into a common pond directly below the wrought iron railings of the front terrace.

FRONT STEPS BY NIGHT

The evening brings special allure with the huge natural rock steps casting shadows from the gas lights above.

FRONT ENTRY

The front terrace is raised above a hillside of boulders and beautiful landscaping.

INSIDE FRONT ENTRY

The heavy wooden front door opens into a world surrounded by 200-year-old French antique doors, hand-scraped wood floors, hand-carved plaster ceiling moldings, hand wrought iron light fixtures and heavily textured plaster walls.

ENTRY CEILING

Hand-carved plaster moldings underscore the artistic painting and hand-wrought iron balustrades of the entry balcony. Subtle cove lighting illuminates the tasteful oval dome above the huge iron chandelier with real wax candle-lights.

DINING ROOM FROM ENTRY

The artistic dining room reflects the designer's concept with deep faux painted walls, heavy antiqued trim, wood floors, large iron chandelier, and a hand-carved plaster ceiling. The ceiling was fashioned after an old estate south of London and took several weeks for five carvers to complete by hand.

PANELED ARCHWAY FROM DINING ROOM

A hand-crafted archway of English panels leads from the dining room into to the bar area. The panels were custom built by hand from hardwoods and were sanded and painted seven times to achieve the perfect finish.

LIBRARY/STUDY

The beautiful library/study features 200 year-old antique doors imported from an old French estate, and the intricate wood work illustrates the months of hand-crafted care.
